Lila's Last Litter -- Born 11/23/2010

Kitten "Cali"

"Cali is doing great! We had everything ready to bring Cali home as per your traveling suggestions. Carl fixed the back area of the SUV so that the traveling pen could not shift while we were on the move. She handled the trip to Canada really well.

"Cali has no problem eating and is growing like a weed. Trying to get some action pictures to send, but if she isn't rolled into a little ball sleeping, she is roaring through the house at 200 miles per hour. If she wants your attention there is no end to her antics.

"Cali sleeps with us and is very quiet until 6:30/7:00 am, then she wants a little bit of loving. She helps with everything, washing, drying, folding (not!), dishwasher... and forget about making the bed! I'll have to wait for Cali to shut down before I send this e-mail because she wants to help me with this, too.

"My husband and I just love her. She's sitting in my lap as I talk to you over the phone."

Kitten "Luna"

Luna

"I just wanted to update you on Luna's acclimation and progress. We have had Luna for a little over 2 weeks now and our experience with her has been nothing but fun and affection. When we picked her up from the airport she was immediately trying to touch and lick us. After getting her into the car and heading home she made it abundantly clear that she wanted out of her crate and into someone's arms. So my daughter let her out and it was instant bonding. She was purring up a storm and rubbing her head and body all over my daughter. Luna spent time gazing out the window at everything and showed no fear whatsoever.

"After getting home we put her in the small bathroom with food, water, litter tray and a toy. She ate, drank and roamed the bathroom, investigating everything. I discovered that if you get down to her level she will run up to you and rub all over you, purring and licking. Luna took to the children right away, no fear or skittishness at all."

"Luna spent 4 days in the bedroom with me, sleeping in my arms at night, curled up into a small ball...very cute. After that, I let her loose into the whole of the basement and she went ballistic, running around frantically doing giant circles around the carpet and furniture. This cat has the most amazing speed and energy and is absolutely entertaining to watch...better than a movie."

"I can't tell you how much fun we are having with Luna; she has really settled in and is dominating everything. I slowly introduced our other cats to Luna and she was ecstatic, no cowering, just straight to work on making new friends. My female Maine Coon is the only one who doesn't accept her and I knew that was going to be the case; she is very guarded and jealous when Luna is around... lots of hissing, growling and paw slapping. But Luna isn't affected by it; she just wants to play and have fun. When I first turned on the vacuum cleaner next to Luna, she just sat there and watched, she did not flinch one bit. My other cats run for cover every time.

"Some of my friends have been coming to the house to visit her and, remarkably, she ran right up to them and started purring and rubbing. She even let them pick her up and cuddle with her. A good friend of mine is an A-6 pilot and when he came over, he picked her up and sat down on the couch. She went straight into his open jacket, curled up inside and went to sleep... unbelievable to witness."

"Luna is eating well and growing before our eyes. I follow your instructions to the 'T'. She is eating about three times a day, and you were right; she is a nocturnal eater. She is amazingly intelligent and comes when called... I can't wait to take her out on a leash this summer."

Mokave Cat

"When I go to bed, before she will settle down with me, Luna has to eat and then she is ready to go to sleep. She stays asleep the whole night (8hrs) and does not move until I get up the next day. Luna knows her bedtime as well... at 10:00 pm she is eyeing the bedroom, then me, giving the hint that it is time.

"She sleeps in my arms every night. When she is tired during the day, she will crawl up onto my chest and fall asleep. She does not like being away from me and cries out when she can't find me. I have never seen a cat with so much energy. I will let you know more in another week or so."

"Last evening, my son and daughter were playing a game on their Wii and Luna sat in front of the TV watching every movement, occasionally stretching up to touch the characters on the screen... very cute to see. I love the way she turns her head to one side when she is listening to you, just like an attentive dog.

"I also noticed that Luna is very ferret-like in her movements -- quick and darty -- and she trots when she moves. I just love her banded legs and tail-less body, so unique to see. Some of my friends are now wanting one... see what you have accomplished? Well done!"

Mokave Cat

"I once owned an F1 Savannah cat that was very expensive. He and Luna share very similar characteristics: highly intelligent, curious, loving and very dog-like in their behavior. Unfortunately, my Savannah passed away at 2 years of age due to liver toxicity and I was very skeptical about purchasing another exotic cat. But buying a Mokave cat is one of the best things I have ever done. Luna is gorgeous; her personality is beautiful and loving, and she loves and accepts everyone. She loves being picked up and expects it; my Savannah did not like to be picked up very often."

Mokave Cat

"Luna has bonded to me very well; she loves to groom me and comes when called.

"Luna shares her time with everyone, not just me exclusively. However, she follows me more and wants to be next to me all the time when I'm here alone.

"My children just adore her and spend a lot of time playing with her."

"Thank you for sending me the photos from my cattery tour; they're spectacular! You can tell by the look on my face, I was really having a good time.

"I just love Vegas (Lila's dad) with his huge neck and head; you could feel his strength coming from that dense compact body of his. You can also get a real sense of how big each of the males were in the pictures as I am 245 lbs. and they look big against me.

"I really enjoyed our conversation during the tour; I couldn't believe how long I was there and how fast time went by... I learned a lot about the cats yesterday."

Mokave Cat

"Hi Nora,
Here's a picture of Luna that I promised. Luna is beginning to change color, her coat is getting a little darker... less golden and more honey colored.

"She is a riot right now, very loving and playful, and of course, demanding lots of attention... and I thought kids were attention hogs!

"Again, thanks for the tour and talk. I hope my family will get a chance to visit the cattery."

"I just want to say that you have done an amazing job of producing one of the most magnificent cats in the world. You obviously love them all and have done a remarkable job of socializing them to other animals and humans.

"You can't put a price on affection; with the Mokave Jag Cat, the price is just a drop in the bucket when it comes to a lifetime of love, beauty and outright fun. Thanks Nora, you are the best."
